SHOP (Shalom House of Prayer)

24-hour, 365-day house of prayer in Shinjuku

"SHOP" stands for "Shialom House of Prayer". There is a story in Matthew 25 about 10 virgins waiting for the arrival of the bridegroom. 5 of them were wise and took with them some extra oil in jars along with their lamps, but the other 5 were foolish and they did not take extra oil with them.
When the bridegroom finally arrived, the foolish virgins asked the wise ones to spare some oil for them, but they were told by the wise ones:
"There may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil (SHOP) and buy some for yourselves."
Our vision for the SHOP is a place open 24 hours and 365 days where prayers are constantly being offered in a non-stop manner, just as a constant flow of the oil.
In this way, our desire is that SHOP helps people to prepare themselves as the bride of Jesus Christ, with readiness of fresh oil of the Holy Spirit, through prayers, worship and fellowship with Him, ready for His Second Coming.

Also, giving constant prayers in the midst of the town is an important strategy to win the whole town to Christ. We can read in 1 Samuel chapter 19: a hostile troop was sent to a town called Rama, where Samuel and his prophets lived. But as soon as they entered into the town, the Spirit of God came on them and they started prophesying. Constant prayers and worship can actually change the spiritual atmosphere of the entire town, promoting the work of the Spirit of God more freely.

Shinjuku Station is used by the largest number of commuters in the world, and there are average of 4 million people coming to Shinjuku per day. Shinjuku is a point of interchange and transit for a number of railways and businesses. Shalom House of Prayer is located in such an unique environment and has had a number of prayer warriors from all over Japan and from all over the world. We also hope that SHOP can serve those pray-ers to be spiritually refreshed, renewed, encouraged and then be sent (back) all over the world, fully charged with spiritual energy.

Lord Jesus taught us the prayer, "...your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." In Heaven, there are praises offered non-stop, "Holy, holy, holy," day and night. Moreover, the Lord Jesus Himself is praying to intercede for us without stop at the right hand of God. This means that the Kingdom of Heaven is a place saturated by constant, non-stop prayers and praises. We believe that it is the precious Will of our Father that the same thing takes place on earth also, so that the Kingdom of God is manifested on earth. When there are unceasing prayers and praises on earth, the Heaven and the earth will become one.

Specific Goal & Plan

To give unceasing prayers for 24 hours and 365 days, and restore the Tabernacle of David.

In the time of the Old Testament, David had created the "Tabernacle of David" on top of Mount Zion. There the prayers and praises, worship and intercessory prayers were offered up to the Lord for about 30 years without stopping.
That time Israel was in its golden era. Grace and favor of the Lord was so richly poured out and Israel flourished as the most powerful nation through which the glory of the Lord was demonstrated to many other nations. The root of those blessings was the unceasing prayers and praises offered in the "Tabernacle of David" .
The Lord loved the "Tabernacle of David" indeed. Even after its most glorious period was over and it was abandoned, the Plan was told through the prophets that "the Lord Himself will restore the Tabernacle of David in the last days".
When the New Testament era had started, James, an apostle and the leader of the church in Jerusalem, had spoken his words with reference to the Book of Amos:
"'After this I will return and rebuild David’s fallen tent. Its ruins I will rebuild, and I will restore it, that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, even all the Gentiles who bear my name, says the Lord, who does these things’—things known from long ago." (Acts 15:16-18)
It is the Lord's significant plan in these last days that the Tabernacle of David be restored and continuous, non-stop prayers and praises be offered there. And there will be a great harvest of souls as the plan proceeds.
When all the Gentiles who are called by the name of the Lord seek Him, it will become a path to the salvation and restoration of Israel, as it is promised in Romans 11:25-26, "Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, and in this way all Israel will be saved."
Furthermore, it is written in Isaiah 59:19, "From the West, people will fear the name of the Lord, and from the rising of the sun (East), they will revere his glory. For he will come like a pent-up flood that the breath of the Lord drives along."
This is a promise that the glory of the Lord will be revealed in a region of the East and there will be a move of Holy Spirit as vigorous as a flood.
Also from the 43rd chapter of the Book of Ezekiel, it is promised that the glory of the Lord will return to Israel from the East. Looking from Jerusalem, Japan is located in the farthest East. We believe that in order to trigger the final great revival which will bring the Gospel back to Jerusalem, it is a crucial plan that true worshipers who worship the Lord in their spirits and truth will arise in Japan and offer non-stop, constant prayers and praises before the Lord, by which the Gate of Heaven will be opened. For that reason, we are working toward restoration of the Tabernacle of David in the leading of the Holy Spirit, with fervent hearts for the Lord.
